Edward Hibert

Edward James Hibert passed away on Sunday, July 8, 2012 at the age of 85. He was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Metairie, LA for the past 48 years. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Shirley Bellocq Hibert, his parents William and Janet Hibert, his sister Gwendolyn Schilling and his brothers William and Joseph Hibert. Edward leaves to cherish his memories his beloved children: Sharon (Andrew) Laborde, Sandra (David) Jung, Thomas (Susan) Hibert, and David (Diane) Hibert. He is also survived by his grandchildren: Natalie (Trace) Tardo, Jennifer (Jerry) Todesco, Jan (Jeremy) Todd, William, Timothy, Katherine, Michael and Kristen Hibert, his great-grandchildren: Bria and Kayla Tardo, Reese and Dominic Todesco and Dakota Todd.

Edward was a graduate of Redemptorist High School and served our nation proudly in the U.S. Marine Corp during World War II. He was retired from Jefferson Parish Office of Voter Registration. The family would like to extend a special thanks to Deborah Graham, Florence and Desiree and the staff of Chateau Living Center, Nurse Bonnie and the staff Hospice Associates of New Orleans for their wonderful care and compassion.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA on Friday, July 13, 2012 at 11:30 a.m. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Interment in St. Patrick #1 Cemetery.
