

Eileen Burke Grinstaff, born on February 6, 1943, passed away peacefully on Sunday, February 8, 2026, in River Ridge, LA, just after celebrating her 83rd birthday. Eileen spent her career as a dedicated receptionist at Fidelity Homestead, from which she retired, leaving behind many cherished colleagues and friends.
She was known for her deep love for her family and her joyous spirit. She was an avid dancer and enjoyed bowling, activities that brough her much happiness and laughter throughout her life.
Eileen was predeceased by her parents, William E. Burke, Jr. and Rita Ricker Burke; her sister, Barbara; her husband, James Grinstaff, Jr.; her son, James Grinstaff, III and her grandsons, Benjamin and Anthony Grinstaff.
She is survived by her son, Michael Grinstaff (Louise); a grandson, Christopher Grinstaff (Gabby Naylor); a great-granddaughter, Maddison Grinstaff; seven siblings: Dianne, Dennis, Timothy, Patricia, Michael, Kathleen, and William Edward III; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Behrent (Wayne) in addition to numerous nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Thursday, February 19, 2026, from 9:00 AM to 11:00 AM followed by a Memorial Service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie, Louisiana 70006. She will be buried with her husband and son in Greenwood Cemetery in New Orleans.

Eileen’s life was marked by her unwavering kindness and the joy she brough to those around her. Her legacy of love and laughter will live on through her family and all who knew her.
