Elaine Callahan Kieffer passed away peacefully on March 16, 2021 at the age of 97. She was born on June 24, 1923 and was a longtime resident of Metairie and faithful parishioner of St. Angela Merici Parish.
She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Louis J. Kieffer, parents, Daniel J. Callahan Sr. and Julia S. Callahan, and brother, Daniel J. Callahan Jr. (Marie).
She is survived by her sister Julia R. Callahan and her children, Louis D. Kieffer (Jody), Patricia K. Nicholson, Mary K. Brown (David), and Carolyn A. Kieffer. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Julia Nicholson, Christopher Kieffer (Deanna), Patrick Kieffer (Sarah), Rebecca Kieffer, Rachel Brown, Matthew Brown, and Michael Brown and great-grandchildren, Daniel, Joseph, Stephen, Micah, Eli, Rowen, and Lainey Kieffer.
A funeral service will be held on Friday, March 19, 2021 at St. Angela Merici Church, 901 Beverly Garden Dr. Metairie, LA. Visitation will be held from 11:30 AM – 1 PM with a funeral Mass to begin at 1 PM. Interment will follow at St. Roch #1 Cemetery.
