Evelyn Rose Strain, age 88, passed away on Monday November 1, 2021. She was a native of New Orleans, LA and a resident of Harahan, LA. Beloved wife of 61 years to the late Oscar Strain. Mother of Jacob Charles Strain, Edward Gene Strain (Debbie) and Lucia Strain Nuss (Philip). Grandmother of Jennifer Schreiner (Danny), Brian Nuss (Jessica), Tiffany Strain (Ty), Megan Strain (Tyler), Robyn Strain (Bill) and Jessica Strain (Stephen). Great grandmother of Reese Paretti, Harper Rose Paretti, Savannah Giaccone, “Gumdrop” Giaccone, Cole Schreiner, Dylan Schreiner, Max Nuss, Ian Nuss, Evangeline “Evie” Lathrop, Abagail “Abby” Brooks, Wyatt Lathrop and Andrew “Drew” Brooks. Daughter of the late Paul St. Lucia and Lena St. Lucia. Sister of the late Stephen St. Lucia, Marie Sheehey and Frances Jacques. Also survived by many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Strain was a member of the Harahan Senior Center and was a parishioner of St. Rita Church. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Thursday, November 4, 2021 beginning at 11:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel. Interment will be in Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum.
