

Everett Joseph Gremillion entered into eternal rest on Tuesday, May 21, 2013 at the age of 88 while surrounded by his family. He was born in Moreauville, LA in 1925 and resided in Metairie for 52 years.
He is survived by his loving wife, Frances Joffrion Gremillion of 64 years; two daughters, Beverly Lamb (Jim) and
Charlene Reuther (Randy); a son Martin Gremillion (Cindy); five grandchildren: Jessica Helm (Troy), Kyle Reuther, Emily Avrard, Jason Lamb, Angelina Gremillionand 6 great-grandchildren: Ashlyn Helm, Austin Helm, Taylor Hastings, Alexis Reuther, Hailey Reuther, Molly Avrard. Brother of Maxille Mayeux. Preceded in death by his parents, Thomas and Mercedes Gremillion; a brother, TJ Gremillion and a great-granddaughter, Kylah Reuther. Everett served his country in the Navy on the destroyer escort, USS Rall, during WWII. He was a barber for 17 years, then worked at the US Postal Service.
He had a passion for singing, telling stories, his vegetable garden, playing solitaire and family dinners every Sunday.
The family would like to extend a sincere appreciation to the staff of Amedisys Hospice Care,
Dr. Fuloria, the nursing staff at Ochsner Hospital, and his sister-in-law, Faye Joffrion Manint.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 11:00 am at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will begin at 9:30 am. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Everett's name to the charity of your choice.
