

Frank Xavier Gillio, Jr. entered into eternal rest on Thursday, November 10, 2011 at the age of 87. Mr. Gillio was a native of New Orleans and lived in Metairie, LA for the past 35 years. Beloved husband of the late Jeanne Comenge Gillio, he will be greatly missed by his by his two children, Karen Villavaso and Laurence Gillio, Sr (wife: Carole Gillio), five grandchildren, Laurence Gillio Jr, Gerard Gillio, Douglas Gillio, Christina Bigelow and Sean Villavaso, and ten great grandchildren. Also survived by a host of cousins, nieces and nephews. Frank is preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Lillian (Holton) Gillio and his brother Clifford Gillio.
Mr. Gillio was retired from Honeywell where he enjoyed a career in management for over 35 years. He was a WWII veteran having served in the Navy for eight years. Frank enjoyed Mardi Gras and rode with several Krewes including Sparta and Amor in both New Orleans and Metairie for over twenty years. He was a member of the Masonic Temple, Farhad Grotto and Nile Club.
Mr. Gillio and his wife Jeanne were active parishioners of St. Mary Magdalen Church for the past 25 years.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the visitation at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 6435 W. Metairie Ave, Metairie, LA on Friday, November 18, 2011 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private.
