

Frederick M. Bullinger, Sr. died on May 27, 2013 at the age of 81, son of the late William P. Bullinger, Sr. and Olympia Curren Bullinger, nephew of Mike, Dominick, Ethel and Antoinette. Brother of the late William P. Bullinger, Jr., James D. Bullinger, and Gerard E. Bullinger. Survived by his wife of 59 years, Amanda Davenport Bullinger. Father of Frederick M. Bullinger, Jr. (Paula), Dominick M. (Matt) Bullinger (Karen), Annette Bullinger, Kathryn Bullinger and Tina Bullinger (John). Grandfather of Frederick M. (Trey) Bullinger III (Anna), James J. (Jimmy) Whitney, Jr., Aimee D. Bullinger, Katherine E. Bullinger, Stacey W. Campo (Andres), Ashleigh J. Whitney, Lawrence J. Leehans, Laura B. Runkel (Conor), and Amanda K. (Mandi) Leehans and four great grandsons Peyton F. Hartline, Cody A. Baas, George T. Bullinger, and Lawson C. Bullinger.
He retired from the Illinois Central Railroad, Regional Manager Sales and Operations after 43 years. He was then hired by South Tangipahoa Parish Port Commission. on November 1, 1997 as the Executive Port Director and retired September 2002. He was President of the New Orleans Traffic and Transportation Club in 1980 and was a lifetime member of the club. He was also a member of the Diamond Club’s “Hall of Fame” and was the director of the Wisner -Lakeshore Old Timers.
Life time member of : New Orleans Chamber of Commerce, New Orleans World Trade Club, Baton Rouge Traffic and Transportation Club, Ports Association of Louisiana, American Legion Post 175, St. Angelia Merici’s Menes Club, Senior Citizens AARP, VIP’s Golf Club, Plimsoll Club, Chateau Golf and Country Club, Retired Illinois Central lunch group, Retired Marketing and Sales group. Fred is also a former 1st. President of the New Orleans Umpire Association and the Veterans Umpire Association.
The family would like to thank the staff at Fresenius Clinic, EJGH, and Canon Hospice for the great care they provided Fred.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Thursday, May 30, 2013 at St. Angela Merici Catholic Church, 901 Beverly Garden Drive at 12:00 noon with visitation at Church Thursday after 10:00 am. Additional visitation will on Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway from 7:00 pm until 10:00 pm. Interment in Hope Mausoleum.
