Gayle Lucy Goutierez-Martens

Gayle Goutierez-Martens, 57, a resident of Pontchatoula, LA., passed away on Saturday, June 30, 2012. She was born on May 17, 1955, in New Orleans, LA., and raised in Metairie, LA. Beloved wife of Louis Albert “Buzzy” Martens. She was the daughter of Joan Brehm Goutierez and the late Calvin A. Goutierez, Sr. She is also survived by her brothers Millard Goutierez (Doodie) and Calvin A. Goutierez, Jr. (Holly); her sister Terry Goutierez Hidding; sisters-in-law Janis L. Martens of Birmingham, AL and Cheryl Martens Betz (Dixon); nieces Jennifer Hidding Pearson (Troy), Gabrielle Renee Goutierez and Catherine Martens Sebers (Scott) of Dallas, TX; nephews Gavin Riley Goutierez and Wade Bratton Betz (Rebecca) of Dallas, TX; and great-nephews Brady Pearson, Bryce Betz and Drake Betz; and her beloved pets, Max, Spike, Baby Girl and Patches.

Gayle was a wonderful person with a heart of gold. She loved animals, never met a stranger, was the life of the party, and marched to her own drummer. She will be greatly missed by all.

A Memorial Service will be held Monday, July 9, 2012, at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home, 1600 N. Causeway Blvd., Metairie, LA. at 1:00 PM. with visitation beginning at 9:00 AM.
