Gerard Edward Sheppard

Gerard Edward Sheppard, age 45, entered into eternal peace on June 7, 2011. He was the beloved husband of Ashley Wagner Sheppard. Stepfather of Kaleb J. Boudreaux. Son of Frank C. Sheppard, Jr. and Barbara G. Sheppard. Brother of Frank C. Sheppard III (Amie Ross), Tiffany A. Sheppard (Billy McDonald), and Scott T. Sheppard (Claudia). Uncle of Nadia and Anja Sheppard and Christian McDonald. Grandson-in-law of Catherine “Scats” Folse and brother-in-law of Stephen Wagner. Grandson of the late Edward and Elsie Gerdes and Frank and Alberta Sheppard. Gerard was an active community member and business owner as well as a dedicated and beloved coach at Jefferson Playground where he coached many teams over the years and positively influenced the lives of innumerable people with his caring demeanor and kind, gentle nature. He was a devoted family man and friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.

Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Funeral Mass on Saturday, June 11, 2011 at 5:00 pm at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie. Visitation will be from 2:00 pm until service time.
