

Easson, Gwendolyn Amelia, died October 3, 2025, at the age of 93, daughter of the late David and Amelia Bowen, dear sister of Hubert, Ken, Donald, Bronwyn, Dilys, Bill, Cecil, Shirley, Rosemary, Geoffrey, and Christopher.
For 67 wonderful years, she was the beloved wife of William Easson.
Beloved mother of Anne, Jane, David (Usha), and Michael. Caring grandmother of William (Meera), Leah (Randy), and Myra. Dotting great-grandmother of Caroline, Rahm, Julianne, and Krishna.
Born in Bienfait, Saskatchewan, Canada. Grew up in Wales, UK. Nursing education in England and Wales. Earned certification as State Registered Nurse and State Certified Midwife. B. S. in Health Arts University of Saint Francis, South Bend, Indiana. Practiced extensively in the United Kingdom, Canada, USA and Saudi Arabia including at the London Clinic and the Mayo Clinic, where she earned Certification with Distinction and met and married William. Head Nurse Department of Medicine King Abdul Aziz Hospital, Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Instructor, Department of Obstetrics LSU Medical Center New Orleans. US – USSR Health scientist exchange published two papers after this exchange.
In addition to a successful career, she was an outstanding homemaker, chef and baker. She made the best family holiday dinners. Above all else, she taught us how to love.
With husband William, she traveled to more than 130 countries including North Korea, Iran and multiple times to the Arctic and the Antarctic. Drove a Volkswagen campmobile from Vienna, Austria to Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Sailed the Northwest Passage from Seward, Alaska to New York City.
Funeral will be private. No flowers, please. In lieu of flowers it is suggested that the mourners do something that gives them joy.
