Mr. Howard Joseph McCann Jr.

Howard Joseph McCann, Jr. went home to the Lord on Friday, August 13, 2010 after a lengthy illness. Howard is survived by his devoted and loving wife of 44 years, Carleatha "Cookie" Morris McCann. Loving father of Travis Scott McCann. Son of the late Edna Leathem McCann and Howard J. McCann, Sr. He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and very dear friends. Age 66; a native of New Orleans, LA. and a resident of Hahnville, LA. Howard worked in the Maritime Industry the greater part of his life, most recently as the manager of a steamship agency. He was one of the founding members of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Harvey where he served on the vestry and held positions on various committees until his health failed.

Family, friends and members of the New Orleans Maritime Industry are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Saturday, August 21,2010 at 11:00 A.M. at GARDEN OF MEMORIES FUNERAL HOME, 4900 Airline Drive in Metairie, LA. Visitation will begin at 10:00 A.M. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to the American Cancer Society, 2605 River Road, New Orleans, LA. 70121.
