Ivan Ignacio Aguilar Mendez, born July 31, 1946 in Leon Nicaragua, passed away on March 6, 2024 at the age of 77. He attended the National Military Academy of Nicaragua and a career as a Merchant Marine.
He was beloved son of Paulita and Francisco Mendez and loving brother of Arturo, Hugo, Hernan, Ernesto, Xiomara, Tyron, William, Leon, Rosa and Jose.
Ivan is survived by his former wife of 37 years Norma Indiana Aguilar Garay, his three son’s Ivan Aguilar (Indira Aguilar), Francisco Aguilar (Belkyss Aguilar) and Bosco Aguilar. Three grandchildren, Sebastian Aguilar, Navi Aguilar and Indiana Aguilar and numerous nieces, nephews and relatives who all loved him dearly.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a visitation for Ivan on Friday, March 15, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006, followed by a funeral mass.
