

James Earl Booth Sr, born August 3 1925; died February 18, 2022 at the age of 96. Son of the late James Adolph Booth and Louise Beck Booth. Beloved Husband to the late Gwendolyn Ann Day Booth for over 58 years, he is survived by their 6 children, daughter Genevieve Booth Gullo and sons James Jr. (Pamela) , Stephen (Tricia), Gregory (Kim) , Timothy (Kim) and Jeffery Booth; 12 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren. Earl Booth was raised in the Folsom/Covington area and graduated from Covington High School. He proudly served in the United States Navy during WWII and the Korean War. After his military service he worked in the airline industry with Delta Airlines at the New Orleans International Airport retiring after 40 years of service. Residing in Laplace, La after retirement with his wife Gwen, Earl was a founding member of the St. John’s Association of Handicapped Citizens as well as a founding member of The Ascension of our Lord Catholic Church and an active member of the Knights of Columbus. Earl was a charter member of the Riverland's Golf and Country Club. He started his love of golf as a caddy at Odenheimer’s Golf course in Folsom, La. He continued throughout his life having reached every golfers dream of shooting his age (multiple times) as well as having several holes in one with two coming after the age of 90.
Visitation will be at the Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy ., in Metairie, La. on Thursday February 24 , 2022 beginning at 9am with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11am at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
