

Devoted husband of Elizabeth Homer Bordelon of 58 years. Loving father of James C. Bordelon, Jr. (Sindy), Andre J. Bordelon (Gail), Rene’ P. Bordelon (Jeanne) and the late Jeffrey M. Bordelon. Father-in-law of Santine D. Bordelon. Jim was a very proud grandfather of 15 grandchildren and great grandfather of 9 great grandchildren. Son of the late Minnie Bordelon and Wilkin Joseph Bordelon. Brother of the late Beryl B. Desselle.
Jim was 80 years of age, a native of Bordelonville, LA , and a lifelong resident of Kenner for nearly 55 years.
He served proudly in the U.S. Army during the Korean War where he was highly decorated for his valor having received 3 Purple Hearts. Years after returning to the New Orleans area, he founded and operated Bordelon Meat Market in Kenner for more than 20 years. His career then shifted to the role of Support Manager at the original Walmart store in Harahan , LA. and culminated with his retirement in 2000. For his service, he was honored as part of the ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Walmart Supercenter on Jefferson Highway.
Jim was also a founding parishioner of St. Jerome Catholic Church where he proudly served as a Proclaimer of the Word and a member of the parish council. He was honored to receive the Order of Saint Louis and to also be among the first Eucharistic Ministers appointed by Archbishop Phillip Hannan .

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass on Monday, August 29, 2011 at 1:00 pm St. Jerome Catholic Church, 2400 33rd Street, Kenner . Visitation from 10:00 am until funeral time.
