James Andrew "Andy" Neely

James Andrew (“Andy”) Neely, lifelong resident of Metairie, Louisiana, passed away on May 8, 2022. He was preceded in death by his parents Jimmie Q. Neely, Leila Mae Westbrook, Raymond Lincks, and ½ brother Randy Lincks (survived by Missy). He was survived by his wife of 24 years Cindy Veau-Neely, daughter Gia Veau-Neely, son Patrick Neely (Melanie) and two grandsons Christopher and Trey, as well as ½ siblings Marlene Lincks, Wyatt Neely (Collette), Karen Neely Tullier (Phil), Deanna Neely Daigle, Toni Myers Borne (Troy) and Bo Myers (Angelle) and a host of nieces and nephews.

Andy was a kindhearted soul and loved his family deeply. He never met a stranger and treasured his longtime friendships.

He served in the Navy and Naval Reserves from 1970 to 1975. He received a Bachelor of Arts in Commerce degree from Loyola University in 1981. He was a proud member of the Fortier 1969 Reunion Committee for the past 18 years. Go Tarpons!

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to the Audubon Aquarium, Audubon Zoo, First English Lutheran Church in Metairie, or any animal or wildlife conservation organization of their choice.

A private service will be held at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home with interment immediately following at Metairie Cemetery.
