Janet Krieger Martello

Janet Krieger Martello, age 83, passed away on March 16, 2025. She is survived by three children James Martello, Jr., Judith Robarts (Mel) and John "Jackie" Martello (Julie). Survivors also include grandchildren Rachel Lonergan (PJ), Leah Bourgeois (Thomas), Jake Robarts (Ana), Ethan Robarts (Sara), Christian McCann, Reverend Deacon Joseph Martello, Emma Martello (Ross Lotspiech), Dominic Martello, Maria Martello (Luke Corona), Therese Martello, Jude Martello, Margaret Martello, and John Martello, and great-grandchildren Patrick Lonergan, George Bourgeois, Clark Bourgeois, Benjamin Bourgeois, Cecilia Robarts, James Robarts, Myles Robarts, August Robarts, and Sunday Robarts. She is also survived by sisters Patsy Loisel (the late Donald) and Karen Rackle (Gene). She is preceded in death by husband James L. Martello, Sr., parents Warren W. Krieger and Clare Englesbee Krieger, and sister Jean Ricks.

She graduated from Mount Carmel Academy. Janet was a longtime resident of Metairie, founding parishioner of St. Philip Neri, and parishioner of St. Ann Church & National Shrine.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass of Christian Burial at St. Ann Church and National Shrine on Tuesday, March 25. Visitation will begin at 10:30 followed by a rosary at 11:45 and Mass at 12:00. Interment at All Saints Mausoleum. 5100 Pontchartrain Blvd., New Orleans, LA 70124.
