Jerry Joseph Thibodeaux

JERRY JOSEPH THIBODEAUX, a native of Houma and a resident of Metairie, passed away peacefully in his home on Monday morning May 21st after a brief battle with pancreatic cancer at the age of sixty-two years. His devoted wife of thirty-eight years, Annette Balsamo Thibodeaux, was at his side. He will be sadly missed by his loving daughters Tiffany Young and husband Frank and Melissa Yount and husband Jeffrey. He leaves behind two adorable grandchildren, Frank M. Young, III and Nina Rosalie Young. He is survived by four sisters, Connie Parr, Brenda Rogers, Carolyn Roussel, and Debbie Wright, and his godmother, Grace Thibodeaux. He was preceded in death by his parents Norma LeBouef and Ivy Thibodeaux. Jerry is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. Jerry was forced to take an early retirement from his beloved teaching profession because of illness but his happiest days were spent in the classroom with his students.

A wake will be held in St. Mary Magdalen Church on the evening of Wednesday,

May 23, 2012 from 6:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Rosary will be recited by the members of the Knights of Columbus at 6:30 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, May 24, 2012 in the Church. Visitation will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 12 noon , Mass at 12 noon.
