Mrs. JoAnn Spunizo

JoAnn enjoyed fishing, gigging, and spending time outdoors camping and gardening. She also loved to cook and was known for her bountiful meals and desserts that would be offered to all, and all were welcomed.

Although she was not a nurse by trade, she was a living Angel who took excellent care of many during their time of need. JoAnn loved helping others and enjoyed giving her time to do so.

Beloved mother of three children: The late Joseph Anthony Spunizo Jr., Laura Marie Romero and Donna Lynn Kopowski. Grandmother of Steve Mcrae Romero Jr, Chantz Joseph Spunizo, Evan Bruce Kopowski and Katelyn Ann Kopowski. Great grandmother to be of Mila Josephine Spunizo. Daughter of the late Edward Lawrence Freeman Sr and Grace Harmon. She was the last survivor of her brothers and Sisters, the late: Carol Malbrough, Mary Ellen Freeman, Sue Berthonnaud Dartus, Edward Lawrence Freeman Jr. and Milton Posey. She is also survived by nieces, nephews and many dear friends including Bennie Cascio.

Friends and relatives are invited to attend the Visitation and Memorial Mass at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie this Friday, October 1, 2021 from 4-7pm followed by mass at 7pm in the chapel.
