

Julia Ann Vercher passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family. Julia was born in Campti, Louisiana March 6, 1939. She graduated in 1957 from Montgomery High School. She met Bernell Vercher at Montgomery High School and they were married in 1957.
She is preceded in death by her father, the late Albert Jackson Smith, and her mother, Mary Julia Smith, and her siblings, Jackson “Jackie” Henry Smith, Charles Richard Smith, and, Marjorie Virginia Looney. She is survived by her loving husband of 65 years F. Bernell Vercher, her children, William Vercher, and, Rebecca Beadle (Danny), sister, Linda Sue Fredieu (Robert), granddaughters, Kathryn Vercher, Heather Bourg (Joey), Kimberly McDonald, and great-granddaughter, Alexis Frost. She adored her many nieces and nephews and had a special relationship with one of her great-nieces, Laila Fredieu. She also had a special relationship with Jody Ethridge who was like a daughter to her.
Julia managed the Records Department at Stone Pigman Law Firm and was a part of the firm for 35 years. Julia was instrumental in moving the firm from its 3 x 5 index card system to its first records software program. Julia loved her years at the firm and had a blast with her friends and co-workers. She retired in July 2020.
She loved life and was quick-witted, clever, loving, and quite the prankster. In addition to caring for her family, Julia took care of many others during her life with her time, resources, and prayers.
She was a member of Parkview Baptist Church for 40 years. A Memorial Service celebrating her life will be held at 6301 Camphor St., Metairie, Louisiana 70003 on Saturday, December 3, 2022, with a Visitation from 11:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, please make donations in Julia's honor to your favorite charity or Parkview Baptist Church.
