Karen Delaney

Beloved wife of Patrick Joseph Delaney of 16 years, and mother of Sarah Jane Delaney. Daughter of Mildred Harris Wyres and Herman Huey Wyres. Sister of Debra Elaine Burgamy. Granddaughter of the late Jane Whitlock and Robert Harris, Sr. Aunt of Daniel Matthew Burgamy and Hunter Benjamin Burgamy, and the late David Michael Burgamy. Survived by a great aunt Lucille Carney; cousins Julie and Angie Murrow; mother-in-law Esta Delaney; in-laws Albert and Emily Delaney, Donald and Shannon Patin, Robert and Rebecca McCandless, David Delaney, Randy and Lauren Camardelle, and numerous loving nieces, nephews, family and friends. She is also survived by her loving pets Hailey, Pepper, Peanut, Jazz and Wolf.

Karen was an employee of Ochsner Health System for 23 years.

A special thank you to the 8th floor Oncology Department at Ochsner, Lauren Camardelle, Rebecca McCandless, and Julie Murrow for their special love and care during her treatment. A special thanks also to Gerald and Marion Ruley, Odessa Williams, Lisa Coudrain, Jason Borja, and everyone involved in the Karing4Karen fund drives.

Relatives, friends, and employees of Ochsner Medical Center are invited to attend a Funeral Service on Saturday, August 6, 2011 at 11:00 am at St. Christopher the Martyr Church, 309 Manson Ave, Metairie. Visitation will be from 10:00 am until funeral time. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations be made to Jt. Jude Research Center, Memphis, TN or to the Louisiana Leukemia & Lymphoma Society, Metairie, LA.
