Keith D. Slater, age 44, of Cranberry Twp., passed away unexpectedly on Saturday, October 4, 2014 in New Orleans. Born on July 1, 1970 in Penn Hills, he was the son of Barbara Johnson Shaffer and Richard Slater. He was an apprentice electrician for Hilltop Electric. Surviving are his mother and step-father, Barbara Johnson Shaffer and her husband, Thomas of Cranberry Twp., his father, Richard Slater in Mississippi, a son, Kalan Slater and a daughter, Paige Slater, both of Hammond, LA, two brothers, Scott Slater of Cranberry Twp. and Sean Slater and his wife, Tia of Kingwood, TX and two nieces, Alyssa and Kiersten Slater. Friends will be received at the McDonald-Aeberli Funeral Home, Inc. 238 Crowe Ave. Mars, PA on Wednesday from 6-8 PM. Prayers will follow at 8:00 PM, with Rev. Richard Neumann, officiating.
