Kenneth C. Ensminger, age 84, (“21” Leap Year) was born on February 29, 1940 in New Orleans, LA and passed away on Monday July 1, 2024 at his home in Kenner, LA. Husband of the late Gail Marie Becnel Ensminger. Father of Michael Ensminger, Stephen Ensminger, Cynthia Ensminger and the late Kenneth J. Ensminger. Son of the late Ernestine Christine Cabalero Ensminger and Percival Ensminger. Brother of the late Ronald John Ensminger (surviving wife, Virina). Also survived by his grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
Mr. Ensminger was sworn into the NOPD on February 16, 1961; 1961- 1965 he was a police officer with the 1st and 6th District; 1966 – 1976 he was Desk Sergeant with the 2nd, 8th District and Superintendent’s Office; 1976 – 1992 he was lieutenant, 8th District, Special Assignments, Communications, Director of Security ‘84 World’s Fair, Reserve Division, 7th District, and 2nd District. In March 1992 he retired after 31 years of service. After retiring from the NOPD he did Private Security at Audubon Place.
Interment will be in Jefferson Memorial Gardens, St. Rose, LA. Services will be private.
