Kenneth E. Smith, Sr., age 76 years, passed away on Thursday, February 21, 2013. He was a native of Henagar, AL and lived all of his adult life in New Orleans, LA with his wife of 55 years, the late Ruby Legendre Smith. He is survived by sons Kenneth Smith, Jr. (Dara) and Brian Smith, grandchildren Sharla and Davin Smith, sister Jackie Vallies (Louis), brothers and sisters-in-law Margie and Gerald Asher, Anthony and Nancy Legendre, and Beverly June Smith. Also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. Preceded in death by his parents, J. Marvin and Delia Ladd Smith, brothers Leonard and Jimmy, and sister Shirley. He will be loved and missed by all who knew him. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the Memorial Service at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA on Saturday, March 2, 2013, at 11:00 a.m. Visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Kenneth’s memory to a charity of your choice are preferred.
