She worked as secretary at a law firm for many years. She spent her free time in her garden, using her green thumb to plant and proliferate as many beautiful flowers and plants as she could. When she wasn’t in her garden, she was taking care of her numerous pets, whom she all loved dearly; from her dogs to her reptiles and fish, she had a passion for taking in stray animals and giving them a loving home. Just like her beloved pets, she was also a compassionate care taker for many family members, including her late mother and her devoted husband. Holidays were Kim’s favorite time of year, and she always went all out decorating for each one to make it as special as she could for her family. Kim was someone with a big heart who made friends easily everywhere she went and never met a stranger. She will be greatly missed by everyone whose life she touched.
Kim was preceded in death by her parents, Patrick Sr. and Catherine Comeaux, her brother, Kevin Comeaux, and her mother-in-law, Madeline Whitley.
She is survived by her devoted husband, Charles M. Whitley, her daughter, Mandy Tibo (Jesse), her step-sons, CJ Whitley and Christopher Whitley, her grandchildren, Lily Tibo and Logan Tibo, her brother, Kenneth Comeaux (Carmen), her niece, Cierra Comeaux, her half-brother, Patrick Comeaux Jr., and her father-in-law, Charles L. Whitley, Jr. Also survived by many other loving relatives and friends.
Family and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006 on Friday, October 29, 2021 at 4:00 pm. Visitation with the family will begin at 1:00 pm until the time of the service at 4:00 pm.
