

Landry Joseph Couvillion Jr., age 87 years old, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loved ones on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at his home in Covington, LA. Landry was born in Alexandria, LA to the late Landry Joseph Couvillion and Mae Marie Juneau Couvillion. He grew up in the New Orleans area where he graduated from De La Salle High School in 1957. He proudly served his country in the United States Army and earned the rank of Sgt. 1st Class upon honorable discharge. After the service, he worked in other industries throughout the New Orleans area. Following a long and distinguished career serving as a Staff Noncommissioned Officer with the 4010th Division of the United State Army, Landry retired in 2000. One of his proudest accomplishments was being a dedicated Volunteer at Touro Infirmary in New Orleans, where he was awarded the President’s Call to Service award. Landry touched the lives of many with his profound sense of humor, quick wit and generous heart.
Landry was preceded in death by his parents, Landry and Mae Couvillion; his aunt Della Putfark; and his very dear friends, James Webre, III and Leslie Webre.
Survivors include his loving, extended family: Erin Webre Blessing and husband Craig, Brian Webre and wife Mary, Bridgette Webre, Mike Vair, Ryan Blessing and wife Jessica, Scott Blessing and wife Erin, Lindsay Webre Clark and husband Marcus, Brandon Webre and wife Annie, Wesley Webre, Valen Malinosky, and Darren Allo and wife Nelly.
Landry was the loving godfather to Brian Webre, Lindsay Webre Clark and Darren Allo, Jr.
Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA on Saturday, February 7, 2026, at 11:00 am. Visitation will be held from 9:00 am until 11:00 am. Inurnment will follow the Memorial Mass at Lake Lawn Park Mausoleum, New Orleans, LA
