Larry Howard Townsend Sr.

Larry Howard Townsend Sr. passed away at his home on Sunday morning, September 25, 2016. He was 67 years old. Beloved husband of Linda Matthew Townsend of over eleven years. Loving father of Larry Townsend Jr. (Tania), Jonathan Townsend Sr., Mitzi Dufrene (Brent), Trent Matthew (Kristin), and the late Chad Matthew. Grandfather of Jonathan Townsend Jr., Calvin Townsend, River Townsend, Blake Dufrene, Dale Dufrene, Skylir Tamplain and Jaymes Tamplain. Son of the late Howard and Lenore Townsend. Larry was a native of Atlanta, Georgia, and has been a resident of the New Orleans Area since 1981. He received a professional engineering degree from Georgia Tech. He had recently retired as Vice President from TES, Inc. after many years of dedicated service. Larry was an avid golfer, and enjoyed traveling and vacationing with Linda and his family. He will be greatly missed by all. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the memorial service from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Friday evening, September 30, 2016 at 7:00. Visitation will begin at 3:00 in the afternoon. In lieu of flowers, contributions in his memory to the Miami Project to Cure Paralysis or the American Cancer Society are preferred.
