My mother, Helene Gordon, played Canasta with your mother for many, many years.  Over time they somehow lost track of each other.  Lola was one of the kindest, most refined women I have ever met.  When I was in Baptist Hospital she spent a lot of time with me.  I remember the lovely 2-story house on Belfast Street.  My thoughts are with you at this difficult time.

Eileen and I are sorry to hear about your mother grandmother and friend to many. She will be missed by all and may her memory be a blessing. Again please accept our deepest heartfelt condolences to your family.

Dear David, Allen, and Barbara,

I remember your mother Lola as one of the sweetest, kindest, most lady-like people I have had the joy to know.  She has been an image of open-heartedness for me, a memory I cherish. I remember many a wonderful meal she prepared with art and love.   It was Lola  who gave me the guitar I still play today.  I join you in celebrating her life, a life well-lived.  And I join you in prayer for her repose, and for your comfort at this time of loss.

I remember my late brother Philip sharing many wonderful stories of the Freedman family . He was  happy to know that Mrs. Freedman always expressed her appreciation of his lawn services.  Peace to all!

Jonah, We offer our deepest condolences to you and your family, on the passing of your dear grandmother. You are in our thoughts and prayers now and always.

Lola and the entire family are so much in my thoughts and prayers right now, representing such a wonderful and important part of my life, which will continue while I draw breath. Peace, comfort, and good health be with you all and may her memory be for a blessing.

I met Ms. Freedman while visiting with Allen at his house Uptown near Carrollton when we were in the 8th grade together at McMain. Her home was decorated very nicely and I remember the large piano in the living area. She was sweet and generous with her hospitality. It's obvious Allen has her eyes, face & smile. He was lucky to have such a great Mom.

Lola, you have been a dear friend to my family.  You were my Mother's dear friend and during her last days, you sat with me and held her hand and held my heart.  You were my Dad's friend and you helped him in so many ways, he needed you and he loved you.  You have been my friend throughout the years and you have encouraged me and always helped me see the positive side.  I am grieving losing you and I am so sad that I missed your "last" phone call but just knowing that I was in your thoughts will stay with me forever.  You have a beautiful family and my family sends each of you our love and condolences.

My Dear Aunt Lola,  I lived with her in 1981 for three months when I was completing my training at Oschner Hospital - I always felt (and still do) that she and her children were the coolest people I ever knew - it always seemd to me that they were (and remain) very much of the mind set that you do what you need to do unappologetically. I learned alot about life from her - and her children -- what a wonderfully amazing set of parents they had.   Best love to you all.
