Loretta, with such fond memories of meeting you and getting to know you during your time in Texas and with such thankfulness for your generosity, strength, and all you taught me while you were here.  To the family and friends of Loretta, my greatest sympathies.  Our loss is surely Heaven's gain.

I did not know your mom that well.  I meet her a couple of times thru Kathy and Carol O'Valley, always at a music event or festival. She was one of those people that was easy to talk to...she really listen to what you had to say. I have heard so many great stories about back in the day when she use to organize the picnics and softball games. She was a wonderfiul person that added so much to the community.  She will be missed my many many people.

Loretta and I were good friends trough Fortier high school and for about 5 or 6 years after graduation.  She was one of the funniest people I ever met.  Wendy and John were very young and probably cannot remember me.  Loretta and I lost contact and I missed her smile.  I was told she died of heart disease many, many years ago.  I regret not looking for her.

As I sat today & watched the photos, and listened to those who had the courage to eulogize her, and smiled and laughed aloud at shared memories (she really was a funny lady), I mused over the fact that, even though I knew her longest (after you, Wendy, and your aunt), I missed the importance of her and what she meant to so many.  My loss.  As she also did for others, her impact on me changed the course of my life, and I am proud to have been a small part of hers.

Wendy and John,  Your mom was such a nice person to me when I was growing up.  She will be missed.

I feel so fortunate to have known Loretta.....she was the best artist assistant I have ever had and a pleasure to be around. And she was darn funny and told the best stories  and had a truly kind heart for others.
Katrina did a lot of damage but also brought Loretta and Wendy and George to Sunset, and we are all the better for having had them here.

I have known Loretta for over 30 years and keep with me many memories of the times we spent together. Wendy, my dear, I know you will feel the loss of you mother but I can tell you first hand that the emotions of the loss will get better and that you have to rely on the good memories with her to carry you through.

Loretta, every memory of you puts a smile on my face, and all I can say is "Thank You, my friend". Wendy and family, my deepest sympathies for the loss of such a neat and wonderful human being.

I have known and respected Loretta for 20 years.  She was truly a person who was dedicated to her charities and stood by her convictions.  The New Orleans community is better for her having been such an active part of it. My thoughts and prayers are with Wendy and the family.

Because heaven was needing a hero somebody like you Loretta.  You were brave enough to stand up for what you believed in and fought for it.  When I try to make sense in my mind the only  conclusion I come to is heaven was needing a hero like you.  When someone you love dies...cry tears of joy, not sorrow.  Cry because you know they lived a good life, not because they're gone.  Cry because of all the laughs you had, not the ones you'll miss out on. Cry because of every thing they did that touched your life, not everything that will never touch you.

Loretta you were always there to talk when anybody needed to. Your spirit and kind heart inspired and brought joy to many. I'm sad that I didn't get to see you one last time.
