

Louis S. Locantro, age 68 passed away on Tuesday, February 13, 2024. He was a native of New Orleans and a resident of Metairie. Louis "Coach Turkey" was an extremely successful football coach to 7-8 year olds boys at Wentwood Playground in Kenner, for many years. He worked at the New Orleans Sewerage and Water Board for over 40 years. Louis was a very kind and gentle person who would help anyone with anything. He didn't need to be the center of attention, but he was always there.
Devoted husband of 42 years to his soulmate Lucille Lobell Locantro. Caring dad of Steven Stortz (Maureen), Al Stortz III (Andree) and Cindy Mattingly. Loving grandfather "Pops"/"Babes" to Jesse Johnson, Alvin Stortz IV and Olivia Grabert. Great grandfather of Luke and Brooklyn Johnson. Son of the late Gerald Archie Locantro Sr. and Henrietta St. Amand Locantro. Brother of Gerald Archie Locantro Jr. (Susan), Lena Locantro Pardo (Stephen), Anthony Jude Locantro Sr. (Ann), Mary Locantro (Toy) and the late Wilfred Joseph Locantro. Also survived by many nieces, nephews and his four legged best friend Casey and her sister Allie.
