Madeline Veronica Dimaggio Saurage

Madeline Dimaggio Saurage, a retired employee of the Jefferson Parish School Board, passed away on Monday, December 30, 2013. Beloved wife of the late Alvin J. Saurage Jr. Mother of Alvin J.Saurage III (Alison), Paula Saurage-Ruiz (Hector), Archie Saurage (Billy), Karin Saurage-Bob and the late Christine Wind. Daughter of the late Archie and Carmella Dimaggio. Sister of the late Leo Dimaggio, Phillip Dimaggiio, Harold Dimaggio, Juanita D. Stentz and Gertrude D. St. John. Also survived by 8 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. Previous widow of Lloyd Bourgeois. She will be greatly missed by her family. Age 91 years. A native of New Orleans, La. and a resident of Metairie for the last 50 years. Her children would like to thank the staff of Metairie Healthcare Center and River Region Hospice for the wonderful care they provided.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Funeral Mass at Garden of Memories Funeral Home, 4900 Airline Drive, Metairie, LA on Friday, January 3, 2014 at 11:00 AM. Visitation will be from 9:00 AM until mass time. Interment will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations to the Alzheimer’s Association (www.alz.org) are preferred.
