Marcelle Marie Haydel

Marcelle Waguespack Haydel, born January 5, 1925 on Laura Plantation in Vacherie, LA entered into eternal rest surrounded by her loving husband and children on Thursday, December 1, 2011 at the age of 86.

She was the devoted and beloved wife of Claude H. Haydel for 63 years and a lifelong resident of Jefferson, LA.

Loving mother of Gayle H. D’Arensbourg (Charlie), Perry J. Haydel (Margaret), Keith M. Haydel (Susan), Beryl H. Tizzard (Kenny) and Lisa H. Trosclair (Craig). She is survived by 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

She is survived by her brother Haydel A. Waguespack and sisters Jewell W. Cuccia, Blanche W. Troxclair, Gaynell W. Bourgeois and their spouses. She is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; Sidney P. Waguespack, Sr. and Blanche Haydel Waguespack, her brother Sidney P. Waguespack and her sister Elia M. Waguespack.

The family would like to express their sincere gratitude to all of her caregivers, especially the staff of River Region Hospice.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at St. Agnes Catholic Church, 3310 Jefferson Highway, Jefferson, LA on Saturday, December 3, 2011 at 12:00 pm. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 am until time of mass. Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.
