Mary Ellen Juneau passed away Thursday morning, October 26, 2023. Mary Ellen was born on January 25, 1940 in Plaucheville, LA to the late Murray and Lillian Firmin. Their family would later be joined by her brother Edward Firmin.
Mary Ellen is survived by her husband, Newton Juneau. They were married on July 20, 1957. They moved to Metairie in 1957 where they created a wonderful family and have made many wonderful memories for the last 66 years. She was a loving mother to her 3 sons Larry (Sandy), Wayne (Kim), and Lloyd (Angie). She was also a proud grandmother to 6 grandchildren Amanda Morgan (Jeremy), Brandi Juneau-Dupeire (Paul), Heather Juneau, Shelby Juneau, Jennifer Juneau (Matt), and Brittany Juneau. She was very proud to be called great-grandmother to 4 great-grandchildren Jackson Morgan, Morgan Dupeire, Blake Morgan, and Tyler Morgan. She was also Nanny to Blaine Firmin, Brian Firmin (Jeanna), Carol Firmin Couvillion (Steve), and many nieces and nephews.
Mary Ellen enjoyed spending time with family and friends, sewing, quilting, and loved going to the casino. She will be greatly missed by many.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend the funeral services on October 31, 2023 at Mater Dolorosa Church, 3458 LA-107 Plaucheville, LA 71362. Visitation will be held from 9-11:00 a.m., followed by Mass beginning at 11:00 a.m.
