Mary Maudel Whitaker Brown passed peacefully surrounded by her family in Albuquerque, New Mexico on Wednesday evening, August 27, 2014. She was 98 years old. Beloved wife of the late Philip Edward Brown. Mother of William Richard Brown. Grandmother of William Armstrong Brown (Sandra). Great-grandmother of Emily, Sarah, and Jill Brown. Sister of the late Lucile Guthrie, Nell Lowery, James R. Whitaker Jr., and Lowell B. Whitaker. Daughter of the late James and Tempie Whitaker. Aunt of Donna Mandel, Ron Whitaker, and Pam Beyer, and the late Gary Whitaker. She was born in Lockhart, Alabama, and a resident of the greater New Orleans area for the majority of her life. She retired as a salesperson from Sherwin-Williams after over 20 years of service. Mary will be dearly missed by the numerous people she touched over her many years. Relatives and friends of the family are invited to attend the funeral service from LEITZ-EAGAN Metairie, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard, on Tuesday afternoon, September 2, 2014 at 1:00.
