He was born in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Melvin and Cleo Rogers on September 25, 1951.
He was the beloved fiancé of Sandra “Mouse” Blanchard for 16 years, loving father of Jason (Angie), Travis, and Ryan Rogers, and “Papa Pedo” to his grandchildren Emma Rae, Donovan Woodrow, and Katie Elizabeth Rogers. He is also survived by his sister Diana Brownlee, and former wife Suzanne Rogers, mother of his three sons.
At the age of four, Pedo began milking cows and working in the family’s fields with his sister. After graduating from Hammond High, he worked for his family-owned business One Hour Martinizing and then at Hammond State School for 13 years. Later in life, he was a forklift driver for Brand Scaffolding Company.
Pedo was a gentle soul and a man of leisure but also valued hard work. He understood more than most how to enjoy the simple things in life that make it so grand. His hobbies included fishing and he absolutely loved working in his vegetable gardens. He is also known for his “Grumpy” face. One of Pedo’s most treasured memories is going on trail rides with his dad in the oldest covered wagon in the state. He will be missed tremendously by his family and friends including the neighborhood gang.
