Nicholas Vincent Marino Sr.

Nicholas Vincent Marino, Sr., went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 3, 2017. Beloved husband of the late Virginia Berbuesse Marino. Father of Nicholas V. Marino, Jr., Mary Ann Marino and Marjorie Marino Hirstius (husband, Steven, Sr.). Grandfather of Brittany, Steven, Jr., Shane, Sean and Tyler. Son of the late Charles Marino and Alice Criss Marino. Also survived by many relatives and friends. Mr. Marino was an officer with the New Orleans Police Department then he went onto work for Frito-Lay, Inc. then onto Merita Bread where he retired in 2004. He was a member of the New Orleans Fraternal Order of Police, a U.S. Marine veteran of the Vietnam War and a parishioner of St. Mary Magdalen Church. Mr. Marino was an avid bowler and belonged to bowling leagues at Paradise Lanes, Colonial Lanes and Don Carters AMF All Star Lanes. He was a very hard working husband and father and will be deeply missed. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at St. Mary Magdalen Church, 6425 West Metairie Avenue in Metairie, LA on Wednesday morning, October 11, 2017 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Memorial Mass to follow at 11:00 AM. Interment will be private at St. Patrick Cemetery No. 1 at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association.
