Patrick "Pops" Jay Ernst, age 53, passed away on Tuesday, May 14, 2013. He is survived by his mother, Kate Gouedy Ernst, his loving children, Brian Ernst and Lauren Ernst (Rick Malbrough), his former wife, Karen Denise Brown, his grandchildren Leah, Nolan, and Olivia, his brother Michael Ernst (Claire Murphy-Ernst) and his nephew, Max Ernst . He is preceded in death by his father, Alvin Leon Ernst. Patrick graduated from Redemptorist High School, attended both Delgado and UNO, and had his pilot's license. He worked at Overhead Door for many years before starting his own company Dynamic Door, which he owned and managed up until his death. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, May 25 at 12pm at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home at 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd in Metairie, LA. Visitation will be from 1-3 immediately following the Funeral Service. All friends and family are welcome to attend.
