Raymond Patrick Schindler

Funeral services for Raymond Patrick Schindler, 66, will be held on Friday, August 22, 2025, at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., Metairie, LA 70006, from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm, with a private interment to follow at the Schindler Family Cemetery in Meadville, Mississippi.

Born on June 24, 1959, in New Orleans, Louisiana, Raymond was the son of the late Charles and Alice Rooney Schindler. One of seven brothers, Raymond grew up in New Orleans and went on to study Geology at the University of New Orleans. He devoted his career to environmental protection in Kenner, Louisiana.

Following the devastation of Hurricane Katrina, Raymond made his home in Metairie, Louisiana. He found joy in the outdoors, supported conservation causes close to his heart, and most of all, cherished time spent with his beloved children and grandchildren.

Raymond will be remembered with great love by family and friends. He is survived by his daughter, Anna Dio Perrier (Schindler), and her husband, Robert Perrier; his son, James Schindler; his brothers, Stephen Schindler, Michael Schindler, and Ronald Schindler; and his two adored grandchildren, Leighton and Ella Perrier, who lovingly called him Gramps. He was preceded in death by his parents, Charles and Alice Schindler, and his brothers, Thomas Schindler and David Schindler.
