Raymond J. Weindel III

Raymond J. Weindel, III, age 72, was called home on Monday, April 18, 2016. Beloved husband of Lorraine J. Weindel for 20 years. Father of Raymond J. Weindel, IV (wife, Leigh), Christopher Weindel (wife, Katie), Jonathan Weindel (wife, Beth), Amy Burgess, Shirley Lucurto and George Schilling, IV (wife, Jessica). Son of the late Raymond J. Weindel, Jr. and Thelma Dubuisson Weindel. Brother of Alex Weindel (wife, Rosie), Sammy Weindel (wife, Dianna), Linda Weindel and Barbara Barras (husband, Keith). Also survived by 13 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and countless friends. Everyone loved Raymond. Raymond was a U.S. Air Force veteran of the Vietnam War. He was a retired police officer for the Harahan, Gulfport and St. Charles Parish Police Department and the Jefferson Parish Levee Board. Raymond was the former owner of Southern Transfer Trucking Company. He was a retired truck driver for B & G Crane Service and K&B. He was a member of John Calvin Presbyterian Church, Kenner Presbyterian Church and was a lay pastor for the Presbyterian Church. Raymond will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at John Calvin Presbyterian Church, 4201 Transcontinental Drive in Metairie, LA on Tuesday evening, April 26, 2016 beginning at 5:00 PM with a memorial service to follow at 7:00 PM.
