

Richard “Ricky” Louis Alford, Jr. passed away at his home on Saturday, April 16, 2022 at the age of 47. He is survived by his parents Mary Jo Ellen Alford and Richard Louis Alford. He was preceded in death by his brother Randal “Randy” Scott Alford and is survived by two nephews, Hayes Allums Alford and Peyton Jules Alford. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins as well a multitude of friends who supported him in his business and personal life.
Ricky was born on January 21, 1975 in Metairie, LA. He attended St. Martins Episcopal School and transferred and graduated from De La Salle High School in 1993. He continued with his education at Ole Miss for 2 years. After leaving Ole Miss, he graduated culinary school and returned to help run the family business at Airline Motors Restaurant. Ricky was the sole proprietor of Cypress Stump in LaPlace and he also worked as a caterer for 26 years cooking across the country. He was famous for some of his dishes that he prepared and his joy and laughter will be missed by all that knew him. Ricky loved his friends and always wanted to help others in the community by offering his services when they were in need. Ricky always had a great story to tell about his life experiences and loved to share them. He had a huge heart and a smile that was contagious. He lived his life with no regrets.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, April 23, 2022 at St. Martin’s Episcopal Church at 2216 Metairie Rd. in Metairie, LA 70005 from 10:30 am – 12 pm followed by a service to celebrate his life. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery.
