Ronald G. "Ronnie" Bourgeois Sr.

Ronald G. “Ronnie” Bourgeois, Sr. was born on July 24, 1947 in New Orleans, LA and passed away on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017. Beloved husband of Bonnie H. Bourgeois for 43 years. Father of Ronald G. Bourgeois, Jr. (wife, Elizabeth) and Jeanne H. Bourgeois. Grandfather of Ronald G. Bourgeois, III, Miller M. Bourgeois and Emery V. Bourgeois. Son of the late Lucille M. Bourgeois and Clinton J. Bourgeois, Sr. Brother of Clinton J. Bourgeois, Jr. and the late Diane Bourgeois. Brother-in-law of Gail H. and Robert Noel and Sharon H. and Michael Sciavicco. Also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Ronnie was a longtime resident of the Irish Channel and most recently was a resident of Harahan, LA. He was a graduate of Redemptorist High School and Southeastern Louisiana University. Ronnie was a U.S. Government employee, retiring with over 30 years of service. Ronnie was a member of the Irish Channel Corner Club, the Irish Channel St. Patrick’s Day Committee, the Genealogical Research Society of New Orleans, the Association of Bourgeois’ of Acadian Decent, the Ed Brauner American Legion Post 307 and he was a U.S. Army National Guard veteran. Mr. Bourgeois’ family would like to thank Dr. F. Brobson Lutz for his care and guidance and also the staff of Canon Hospice for their care and compassion. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Thursday morning, April 20, 2016 beginning at 9:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow at 11:00 in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
