Salvadore Joseph Junda Sr.

Salvadore “Sam” Junda, Sr., age 81, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, December 2, 2017. Beloved husband of Deborah Geoghegan Junda for 41 years. Father of Sal Junda, Jr., Tina Junda Wuertz (husband, Clifford, Sr.) and the late Charles “Chucky” Junda. Grandfather of Clifford and Clinton Wuertz, Sal and Justin Junda, Tony and Shane Raines and Jamie Junda. Son of the late Samuel and Dorothy “Dot” Junda. Brother of Doris Deckwa (husband, Bill) and Patricia “Pat” Tenhundfeld. Former husband of the late Marilyn Grazziano. Also survived by a host of great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Junda retired from Kaiser Aluminum in Chalmette. He was a Seabee in the Navy in the Vietnam War, serving two tours, a member of VFW Post 15019, American Legion Post 0383 and a former Shriner and Mason. Mr. Junda enjoyed going to flea markets and antiquing. He loved to travel, especially to the New England Sates and he enjoyed dining out at restaurants. He will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives he touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the memorial gathering at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Pkwy., in Metairie, LA on Saturday, December 9, 2017 beginning at 11:00 AM with a Requiem Mass to follow at 1:00 PM in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel.
