Sandra Gail Pesses Loosemore

Sandra Pesses Loosemore passed peacefully, in sleep, early Friday, May 1st, 2026. Beloved wife of nearly 42 years to Raymond Loosemore. By first marriage, wife of Jay Herbert Babin. Mother to the late Shana Karen Babin and Christina Loosemore. Daughter of the late Jules Solomon Pesses and Bella Shapiro Pesses. Sister to David Leon Pesses (Beth) and sister-in-law to Linda Stansbury (Herbert). Grandmother to Milan Renée Richardelle. Also survived by many beloved nieces and nephews.

Sandy, as most knew her, was a native of New Orleans, Louisiana, and later in life, Kenner. An attendee of John F. Kennedy Senior High School, Sandy began her lifework as a customer service representative amidst family businesses All Star Cleaners and Lil’ Dave’s. Following this, Sandy was an excellent homemaker. As her children aged, Sandy worked in a variety of child-care positions, including after-school care at Kehoe-France. Sandy loved caring for children and was deeply inspired by conversing with them. Most recently, Sandy ran childcare services at St. Luke’s United Methodist Church prior to Covid-19.

Sandy partook in a variety of craft-making activities. Much of which was enjoyed with her daughters, teaching them the importance of art in both calming the heart and mind, while also serving as an outlet for such.
