Shirley F. Codifer

Shirley F. Codifer passed away on Monday, July 22, 2013 in Mobile, Alabama, at the age of 87. Pre-deceased by her parents, Elliott W. Fassbender, Sr. and Elizabeth Lopiccolo Fassbender, her siblings, Elliott W. Fassbender, Jr., Rita Fassbender Collins, and Huey P. Fassbender, her husband, Louis P. Codifer, Jr., and her son , Donald L. Codifer. Survived by her daughter, Diane E. Codifer, her cousins, Hazel Romano and May Rose Wool, her sister-in-law, Lolly Fassbender and numerous nephews and nieces.

Mrs. Codifer graduated from McMain High School and attended Sophie B. Newcomb College. She will be remembered as a lector at St. Angela Merici Parish, a member of the Ladies Auxilliary of the Knights of Columbus Ludovicum Council #4663, an officer and owner, together with her brothers and sister, of Market Place Produce Co., Inc., and was an accomplished competitive ballroom dancer.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass from Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home Chapel 4747 Veterans Blvd. Metairie, Louisiana on Friday July 26, 2013 at 11:00 a.m.

Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery.

Friends may visit from 9:30 a.m. until time of services.
