Shirley Coggins departed from this life peacefully on Wednesday, January 29, 2014 at the age of 93. She was born in Alexandria, LA on June 28, 1920 to the late William B. Head and Alice Peek Head. She was a lifelong resident of Shreveport, LA and graduated from C.E. Byrd High School. Mrs. Coggins retired from the Caddo Parish School Board after many years of service. She enjoyed being a docent at the Meadows Museum and was a member of the Women’s Department Club and St. John Berchmans Catholic Church.
She is survived by a daughter, Donna Lissard; her granddaughters, Dr. Janine Lissard Coe (Lester), and Alicia Easley (Russell); and great- granddaughters, Lila and Hannah Coe.
A Burial Service will be held at Garden of Memories Cemetery, 4900 Airline Dr., Metairie, LA at 11:00 am on Monday, February 3, 2014. A memorial service will be held at a later date in Shreveport.
