Stanley H. Fried

Stanley H. Fried on January 20, 2012. Beloved husband of the late Winifred Fox Fried 1st marriage and Pamela Morgan Fried by 2nd marriage. Beloved father of Linda C. Fried, Denver, Co., Joanne B. Fried, Metairie, La., and Lee Freed (Pamela), Metairie, La. And Brisbane, Australia. Grandfather of James Freed. Brother of the late Erwin J. Fried. Age 93, a native of Baltimore, Md. and a resident of New Orleans, La. Mr. Fried was a graduate of the University of Philadelphia Wharton School, Army Veteran WWII, Officer, Signal Corp., Bronze Star recipient, battles: Attu, Marshall ISS, Philippines, New Guinea and Okinawa. Stanley also was a successful Executive with a career in retail. He was president of Lowenstein’s Dept. Store, in Memphis, Tn. from 1957 to 1968, and later an Executive of Krauss Co., until 1997. He was on the board of Goodwill from 2000 until 2008, Treasurer with the International Wine and Food Society, New Orleans Chapter for 15 years, and a member of Chaine des Rotisseurs, and Commanderie de Bordeaux.

A Memorial Service will be held at Tharp-Sontheimer-Tharp, 1600 N. Causeway, Metairie, La. on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at 12:00 noon with visitation beginning at 10:00 am.
