Stephen Joseph Faucheaux, Sr., 71, passed away peacefully on Saturday, December 17, 2022 at his home with his loving wife and children at his side. He was born on April 30, 1951 in New Orleans, Louisiana, the son of Thomas J. and Patricia (Grilletta) Faucheaux, Jr.
Stephen graduated from Holy Cross High School in New Orleans, class of 1969. He received his degree as a Doctor of Pharmacy from Xavier University in New Orleans and worked as a pharmacist for many years before he returned to school to receive his Masters in Health Administration from Tulane University in New Orleans. Afterward, he worked as the Director of Pharmacy at several New Orleans area hospitals, retiring in 2018.
He was married to the love of his life, Gwendolyn Defiore with whom he celebrated 48 years of marriage in November. Stephen loved Mardi Gras and the Saints, but his greatest love was his family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and is survived by his wife and adoring children, Stephen J. Faucheux, II (Meredith Schiro), Patrick N. Faucheaux (Brandi), Lauren F. Pepin (Paul); seven grandchildren: Mason, Cooper and Carter Pepin, Stephen III, Grace, Sophia and Julia Faucheaux; three siblings, Thomas Faucheaux, III (Charlene), Mary Faucheaux (Priscilla) and Michael Faucheaux (Dawn) and a step-brother, Robert Borger (Leslee).
A Funeral Mass will be held on Thursday, December 22, 2022 at noon at St. Francis Xavier Church, 444 Metairie Rd. in Metairie, Louisiana. Visitation will begin at 10:00 am at the church. Interment will be in Greenwood Cemetery at a later date.
