Sylvia S. Higgins

Sylvia S. Higgins, age 78, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2021. She is preceded in death by her parents, the late Charles E. Higgins, Sr., and Mary Davis Higgins. She was born in New Orleans, Louisiana and was a longtime resident of Metairie. She is survived by a son, Chris Crick, nephew Mace Duersel, close friend Charlaine Ritter and numerous other close friends.

Sylvia went to school at Ursuline Academy and graduated in 1961, she went on to attend Loyola University. She was a legal assistant at Entergy Louisiana for several years. Sylvia had a very generous spirit, she loved to offer gifts to family, friends and co-workers. Some of her favorite past times were reading, going out to eat with friends, and to go shopping. She loved the New Orleans Saints and LSU Tigers. She will be dearly missed by all those who knew and loved her.

A Funeral Mass for Sylvia will be held at St. Catherine of Siena, 105 Bonnabel Blvd, Metairie, Louisiana on Wednesday July 7, 2021 with Visitation between 10:00 am – 12:00 pm with the Mass beginning at 12:00 pm. Inurnment will immediately follow at Lakelawn Park, 5454 Pontchartrain Blvd, New Orleans, Louisiana. In lieu of flowers, masses could be said in her honor.
