Sylvia Mary Herbert Passauer

Sylvia Mary Herbert Passauer, age 71, passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. She was a native of New Orleans, LA (The Irish Channel) and a resident of Metairie, LA. Beloved wife of Louis C. Passauer for 49 years. Mother of Louis C. Passauer, Jr. D.D.S. (Susan), Charlotte Marie Passauer Dongieux (Jeffrey) and Charles Joseph Passauer (Giovanna). Maw Maw to Ryne, Reid and Roth Passauer and Eli James Dongieux. Daughter of the late Warren Herbert and Irene Heigle Herbert. Sister of Gaynell Herbert Tanguis (Alex, Sr.) and the late Marie Herbert Kertz (the late Louis, Sr.) and Warren Louis Herbert, Jr. (the late Peggy). Aunt of Louis Philip Kertz, Jr. (Gloria), David Kertz, Alex Tanguis, Jr. (Jennifer) and Geralyn Tanguis Lusher (Keith). Mrs. Passauer was an office manager for Louis C. Passauer D.D.S. and was a parishioner of St. Clement of Rome Church. During her school years she was involved in the Girl Scouts and various Catholic organizations. Mrs. Passauer was a maid at the New Orleans Spring Fiesta Association in 1965, was an active alumni of St. Stephens High School Class of 1964 and was actively involved in the Cabrini High School Parents Association, Lakeview Booster Club and various organizations at Brother Martin High School. She was a very loving and devoted wife, mother and grandmother and was an avid LSU sports fan. She will be deeply missed by everyone whose lives she touched. Relatives and friends are invited to attend the visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Blvd., near Clearview Plwy., in Metairie, LA on Friday evening, September 7, 2018 from 6:00 PM until 10:00 PM and on Saturday, September 8, 2018 beginning at 10:00 AM with a Funeral Mass to follow in Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home’s chapel at 1:30 PM. Interment will be in Metairie Cemetery.
