Tina Marie Simon passed away surrounded by her loving family on Tuesday, October 10, 2023. She was preceded in death by her loving parents, Anna Mae and Morriss Simon. She is survived by Betsy, her latest four-legged child, two brothers, Ronald and Morriss, and her sister, Lynn, as well as many other family members and dear friends.
She was a lifelong native of New Orleans. She could not have been more New-Orleanian being a Touro Hospital baby born on August 8, 1956. She was a proud graduate of Warren Easton High School. She was a member of the pep squad and used her artistic talents for many school celebrations. She has also been a very active member of the Crescent City Art Association having had the recent 2023 annual retreat dedicated in her honor.
For all who knew her she will always be remembered for having a ready helping hand and many times even for those she had just met. You never had a better, more loving friend than Tina. She had a passion for anything artistic, from painting to all types of crafting, as well as tooling around in her car. But most of all, her great love for animals, particularly her cats, is what Tina was most known for.
She will be greatly missed as she leaves behind many heavy hearts. We pray she has peace and comfort now after a life truly well lived.
Relatives and friends are invited to attend a Celebration of Life visitation at Leitz-Eagan Funeral Home, 4747 Veterans Memorial Boulevard in Metairie, Louisiana on Saturday, October 28, 2023, from 10:30 am until 12:00 noon. A private interment will occur at a later time.
The family asks that those attending the Celebration of Life visitation come dressed in vibrant colors, if possible, and be prepared to share lovely, fun “Tina” stories. The family has planned a celebration befitting the person Tina has always been - just as she would want.
The family also asks that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to the SPCA of New Orleans or other organizations that could provide help and care for bettering the lives of others.
Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.LeitzEaganFuneralHome.com for the family.
