Vincent Paul Culotta

CULOTTA Vincent Paul, age 87. After a long and healthy life, Vincent passed away unexpectedly in the early morning hours of October 7, 2016, at his home of over 38 years in St. Rose, LA, in the presence of his grandson and two close friends. Vincent was born on April 26, 1929 in New Orleans. Son of the late Paul S. Culotta and Josephine LaRocca Culotta, he was proceeded in death by his wife, Carmen Catherine Ferrara Culotta, to whom he showed total devotion throughout their marriage of nearly 68 years. Vincent is survived by his only sibling, Frank P. Culotta (Joyce). Vincent will forever be remembered by his faithful and adoring children, Paul V. Culotta (Betty), Karen A. Clingon (Billy) and Jared G. Culotta (Cindy), and his beloved grandchildren: Chad Culotta, Kimberly Lackey, Robyn Timmermeyer, Eryn Culotta, Matthew Clingon, Loryn Culotta, Luke Culotta, Lauren Wanamaker, Jared P. Culotta, Brooks Culotta and Hannah Culotta. Vincent will also be missed by his ten great grandchildren and many other family and friends who were blessed to have known him. Vincent was a rock upon which his family relied. A man who understood the value of hard work and commitment, Vincent worked hard every day of his life through his last day. He worked two and sometimes three jobs to pay for his children’s college education, something he could not afford for himself. His passion for restoring antique cars, especially Model A’s, was one that filled his retirement years with meaningful activities and which created lasting friendships. Family and friends are invited to pay their respects at St. Charles Borromeo Church, 13396 River Road, Destrehan, LA on Friday, October 14, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. to noon, immediately followed by a Mass of Christian Burial. Interment will follow at St. Charles Cemetery adjoining the church. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent in Mr. Culotta’s memory to Special Olympics New Jersey or Special Olympics Texas.
